Basilico to Open New Restaurant at Harrison Crossing

A “coming soon” business banner for Basilico has gone up on one of the newest retail buildings at Harrison Crossing. Basilico, an Italian Market & New York Deli, plans to open a new restaurant in the building sometime next spring.

7011 Harrison Rd - BasilicoThe restaurant will occupy 6,150 sq. ft. in one of the two new retail buildings that were recently constructed. The property, located at 7011 Harrison Rd,  will feature a shared courtyard/patio for outdoor dining and additional space for future tenants.

Virginia Properties, Inc., the developer, has plans to build additional space at the 3.71 acre site. At completion, the site could contain up-to 33,375 sq. ft. and include an end cap unit with a drive-thru.

Basilico will be the newest restaurant to locate at Harrison Crossing, which has experienced a restaurant boom over the past few years. But, despite the increase, the majority are fast food or quick service restaurants, leaving a continued void for full service restaurants at the development.

Harry’s Ale House, which opened earlier this year, is currently the only full service restaurant at Harrison Crossing. Since opening, Harry’s has become a favorite of nearby residents who have been longing for more full service dining options closer to home.

Basilico will compliment the overall development at Harrison Crossing very well and provide an exciting new dining option for this growing area of Spotsylvania County.

This will be Basilico’s second location within the Fredericksburg Region. In 2012, Basilico opened their first location in the Cowan Center, at 2577 Cowan Boulevard, near Mary Washington Hospital in the City of Fredericksburg.
